Get cozy and warm by the hand-crafted stone hearth. The wood-burning fireplace provides a welcoming, relaxing environment for you and your companions, with plenty of hand-cut wood logs provided on site. Sitting by the fire, you can have a spectacular view of Lake Superior through the bay window looking over the deck.
A unique feature of this property is the panoramic high bluff view of Lake Superior. Relax or dine on the deck that provides expansive, far-reaching views along the shore of Lake Superior.
Kenko Sleep System
Our beds are equipped with NIKKEN’s Kenko Sleep System. The Sleep System includes a revolutionary technology that helps re-create the Earth’s magnetic field. The Kenko Naturest mattress topper and custom pillow are produced from all-natural materials and contain no chemicals, unlike conventional mattresses or pillows.
Our guest home is located on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Lake Superior is the cleanest and clearest of the Great Lakes. Thanks to low amounts of nutrients, sediments, and organic material, you can see about eight feet under the water, great for exploring. As you stand above Lake Superior on the Red Rock cliffs, you will have a view of the beautiful red sandstone under the water, as far as the eye can see.
Not only is Lake Superior the largest of the Great Lakes, it also has the biggest surface area of any freshwater lake in the world. The average depth of Lake Superior is about 500 feet. It is the deepest of the Great Lakes, at 1,335 feet. Even if you go swimming in the hottest part of the summer, you’ll soon learn that Lake Superior is also the coldest of the Great Lakes, icy cold at an average temperature of 40° F (4°C).
The water temperature sets the climate for the area, making winters warmer and summers cooler. Fall is the season for “northeasters” or strong winds and rain. This is what caused most of Lake Superior’s 350 shipwrecks.
